Professor Ma Feicheng and Other Scholars Joined the 2017 Cross-Straits Seminar on Medium-term Achievements of Research Plan on Aging Society Management in Taiwan

From April 23rd to 29th, 2017, invited by K. T. Foundation for the Development of Science Technology, a Taiwan consortium, National Natural Science Foundation of China organized specialists and scholars from universities nationwide to partake in the 2017 Cross-Straits Seminar on Medium-term Achievements of research plan on aging society management in Taiwan. Professor Ma Feicheng, Professor Fan Hao and Yu Siwei, a doctoral student of School of Medicine attended the seminar by invitation.

The seminar was hosted by National Taipei University of Technology, Chang Gung University, Nan Kai University of Technology and National Chung Cheng University. Apart from the representatives from the host universities, specialists from National Yang-Ming University, Yuan Ze University, National Taipei University of Nursing and Health Sciences and Tzu Chi University also participated in the seminar. In Mainland China, Fudan University, Tsinghua University, Beijing University, Capital Medical University, Beijing University of Technology, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Hefei University of Technology also sent their specialists to the seminar, in addition to Wuhan University. According to the schedule, the representatives visited Industrial Engineering of Management of National Taipei University of Technology, Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering of Chang Gung University, Department of Gerontic Technology and Service Management of Nan Kai University of Technology, Department of Business Administration of National Chung Cheng University, Gerontechnology Research Center of Yuan Ze University, Chang Gung Health and Culture Village, Delta Electronics Foundation and so on. Besides, they had a communication about the medium-term achievements and an academic discussion with specialists and scholars from both the mainland and Taiwan of China who took part in the research plan on aging society management, and all the representatives delivered speeches on the report about the achievements of aging society management.

Professor Ma Feicheng and Professor Fan Hao made an academic report titled The Research of Smart Elderly Care Platform Based on Knowledge Management of Chronic Diseases, which studied how to combine scattered personal information, medical data and knowledge about chronic diseases so as to provide systematic support and design scheme for smart elderly care service. The partner of this program, Professor Xu Jianye from National Taipei University of Nursing and Health Sciences also presented a report on the corresponding medium-term achievements.

This visit has promoted the understanding among the cross-Straits researchers working in aging society management and the communication about the academic achievements and research methods, as well as the communication among the scholars engaged in related research in Mainland China, laying the sound foundation for the subsequent cooperation and research.
