Long-term Strategic Collaboration Agreement between Professor Dave Nicholas and the School of Information Management Was Signed

In order to enhance international communication and collaboration, to facilitate the developing “Library, Information and Data Sciences” into the World First-Class Discipline, School of Information Management, Wuhan University decided to appoint Professor Dave Nicholas as a guest professor and build long-term strategic relationship between the school and CIBER, a policy-led, consumer-driven, interdisciplinary and independent research group directed by Professor Dave Nicholas.

On March 23th, 2018, at the Reform Club (London,UK), Dean Fang and representatives of Wuhan University met the CIBER team to discuss research collaboration. During the meeting, a research project based agreement was signed by Dean Fang and Professor Nicholas which saw Professor Nicholas becoming a guest professor at Wuhan University in the School of Information Management.

Professor Dave Nicholas (Director, CIBER Research Ltd.) is one of the original CIBER founders. His interests include use and seeking behavior in virtual spaces, the digital consumer, the virtual scholar, mobile information (information on-the-go), e-books, e-journal usage, the evaluation of digital platforms and scholarly communication and reputation. Professor Nicholas was Director of the Department of Information Studies at University College London (2004–2011) and prior to that Head of the Department of Information Science at City University (1997–2003). And he has published around 500 peer evaluated papers, reports and books. Professor Nicholas is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Tennessee and was also a Professor at Northumbria University (2015–2016). His H-index reached 50 by 2017.
