The First Meeting of SIM Student Societies

In order to strengthen the management of student societies and promote the healthy and orderly development of student societies, on the afternoon of November 17, the School held the First Meeting of SIM Student Societies in the lecture hall No. 212.

Qian Dai, CPC Deputy Secretary of the SIM, Wuhan University, Communist Youth League Committee Secretary of the SIM, and Communist Youth League Committee Deputy Secretary of the SIM, tutors of various student societies,Minjun Bao, head of the Direction Center of Wuhan University Student Societies, and representatives of various student societies attended the meeting.

Yiqiang Li, head of the Society Management Department of the SIM Communist Youth League Committee, made a summary report of the SIM societies work. He reported on the development and breakthrough achievements of the student societies in the School under the background of the reform of the Communist Youth League and Student Union from the aspects of ideological construction, organizational construction, policy construction and management services.

Harelehax Habuletay, Deputy Secretary of CYLC SIM Committee, explained the newly issuedRegulations on the Student Societies Management of School of Information Management, Wuhan University. According to theRegulations on the Student Societies Management of Wuhan Universityand the actual work of the School, this regulations make specific provisions on the management mechanism, responsibilities, member management, organizational construction, activity management, and expense reimbursement of student societies of the School.

Qian Daihighly affirmed the achievements of the School’s societies work in recent years, and expressed her gratitude to all the participants in the society work for their dedication. She pointed out that the society work is an important part of the School's implementation of the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education and promoting quality education. All along, the Party Committee of the School has attached great importance to the society work. She put forward three hopes for the work of School’s student societies as followings:

Firstly, to further standardize the management, only a good management system can drive the healthy and orderly development of the societies.

Secondly, it is necessary to further improve the professional ability, and all student societies should strengthen their study, so as to help them achieve better results and unite people.

Thirdly, we should actively spread the society culture. Each student society should base itself on its characteristics, give full play to its expertise, and carry out mass activities to build a platform for enriching students' campus cultural life.
