Title:Prediction of chronic disease occurrence using EHR data: A pilot study in Hong Kong

Abstract:Chronic diseases are major causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Many chronic diseases are preventable through effective disease management and prevention programs. In addition, some relations between diseases are suspected to be hidden. Doctors need a good decision support system for reliable risk assessment and early detection of chronic diseases. In this ongoing research, we proposed a tensor factorization based model to predict the near-future occurrences of popular chronic diseases at individual patient level using the admission record of the internal medicine department of a major public hospital in Hong Kong. Experiments demonstrated the feasibility and good performance of the proposed approach.

【主讲人介绍】：

张清鹏，香港城市大学系统工程和工程管理系助理教授。华中科技大学自动化学士学位，在亚利桑那大学管理信息系统获得工业工程硕士学位和工业工程博士学位。在进入香港城市大学前，曾在伦斯勒理工学院担任博士后研究助理(计算机科学部)。还曾在太平洋西北国家实验室和中国科学院担任博士实习生。研究兴趣包括社会计算、医疗信息学和数据分析、复杂网络和语义网。
