Delegation from Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi Visited Our School

On the afternoon of November 29, Dr. Proscovia Svärd and Dr. Yann Rodier of Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi visited our School. People attended the exchange meeting were as followings:

Lihong Zhou, Associate Dean of our School,

Ping Wang, Associate Dean of our School,

Lu An, Deputy Director of the Department of Information Management Science of our School,

Yujue Wang, Deputy Director of the Department of Archives and Government Information Studies.

Lihong Zhou presided over the exchange meeting.

Lihong Zhou welcomed the arrival of Proscovia Svärd and Yann Rodier, thanked them for their long-term friendly cooperation with our School, and made a detailed introduction to the SIM from the aspects of general introduction, discipline development, personnel training, faculty and staff, international exchange, etc., and proposed to close the exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in various forms such as joint meetings and visiting scholars.

Ping Wang introduced the Department of Archives and Government Information Studies from the aspects of the amount of students, personnel training and students' employment, and proposed to establish a digital humanities course program to provide opportunities for students from non-English-speaking countries to study in English.

Proscovia Svärd and Yann Rodier introduced the Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi and their research directions and results respectively. They said that they were very glad to have the opportunity to visit Wuhan and were shocked by the achievements made by Wuhan University in the field of digital humanities. They hope that they can lay a foundation for long-term and in-depth cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and China via this visit, and build a bridge of friendship between Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi and Wuhan University, establishing a mutual visit mechanism for personnel exchanges between the two sides.
