主讲人简介：

David Fenske教授是美国德雷赛尔大学计算机与信息学院名誉院长，美国图书馆协会会员，图书馆学情报学教育协议会员，美国高等教育协会会员等。Fenske教授的主要研究领域为：数字图书馆、信息学、知识管理和信息技术系统。他参与了美国印第安纳大学大型数字图书馆的设计与部署工作。在与IBM公司合作时，他提出的数字图书馆的概念在国内外信息学领域产生了深远影响。

讲座内容摘要： There are now 80 iSchools on five continents spanning many cultures, languages, educational diversity, and time zones to name a few dimensional challenges. In the next few years, the total number of institutions will approach 100 and the continents will grow to 6 or 7. The technical infrastructure we are building aims at providing communication, repository, pedagogical and research infrastructures promoting cross-cultural collaboration across these dimensions. We also aim to increase the scope of our research and the educational value to our faculties and students.
