From November 12th to 19th, Professor Jiang Wu’s research group from the School of Information Management at Wuhan University traveled to Australia to attend the 2024 Australian Social Network Analysis Conference (ASNAC 2024), and visited the University of Queensland.
The 2024 Australian Social Network Analysis Conference (ASNAC 2024) was held at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia, from November 13th to 15th. Professor Jiang Wu’s group organized a workshop titled Social-Technical Complex Network and its LLM Applications. At this workshop, Professor Jiang Wu introduced the concept of "social-technical networks" and analyzed the theme of Socio-technical Network Computing and LLM Simulation from aspects such as "social-technical bipartite networks" and "social-technical temporal networks," along with their applications in the field of information resource management.
Chaocheng He, Associate Professor in the Department of Digital Economy and Intelligent Business at our school, presented a study titled Involution-Cooperation-Lying Flat Game on a Network-Structured Population in the Group Competition. This presentation covered concepts like "involution-lying flat," social-technical game models, simulation experiment settings, and analysis of simulation results. The related paper has been published in the international journal IEEE Transactions on Computational Social Systems.
Renxian Zuo, a doctoral student in E-commerce from our school, shared research titled Navigating the Labyrinth of Involution: A LLM Smart Agent-based Simulation of Social Resource Competition. This research explored the application of large language models in simulating socio-technical network behaviors, discussed how agent attribute heterogeneity and strategy diversity influence various forms of involution, and proposed potential solutions to alleviate socio-technical competition involution.
From November 16th to 17th, Professor Jiang Wu’s group visited the University of Queensland and held discussions with Andrew Burton-Jones, Professor at UQ Business School, Stan Karanasios, Associate Professor and head of the Information Systems Department, Associate Professor Dongming Xu, and Dr. Bikesh Raj Upreti. During the meeting, the University of Queensland warmly welcomed Professor Jiang Wu’s group and provided detailed introductions to the latest progress and research outcomes of the Information Systems Department and its main research teams. Both parties engaged in an in-depth discussion about educational issues in their respective disciplines, expressing hopes for further cooperation in talent cultivation, research, and teaching.
