Professor Qing Fang, Dean of the Publishing Institute at Wuhan University, led a delegation to visit Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore from December 1st to 3rd. The delegation also included Jie Xu, Professor, Associate Dean of the Publishing Institute and Director of the Department of Publishing Science of Wuhan University, Han Zheng, Associate Professor at the Department of Publishing Science, Liang Zhao, Associate Researcher, and Guoyang Rong, a doctoral student of our school. The purpose of this visit was to expand international cooperation and deepen exchanges with world-class universities.
At the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information at Nanyang Technological University, Qing Fang and his delegation met with Professor Linchuan Qiu, Chair of the School; Professor Chei Sian Lee, Vice Chairwoman of the School; Professor Dion Hoe-Lian Goh, Vice Chair of the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences; and Professor Theng Yin Leng, Research Director of Research Strategy & Coordination, Office of the President.
During the meetings, both parties introduced their distinctive advantages and strategic layouts in talent cultivation, scientific research, and social services. They explored potential areas and models for cooperation. Both sides reached a consensus on enhancing faculty and student exchanges through joint education programs, academic seminars, short-term exchange student plans, and other methods. They expressed that future collaborations could be continuously increased in jointly concerned key disciplinary directions and interdisciplinary research fields, exploring innovative forms of cooperation to deepen mutual benefits, win-win outcomes, and complementary advantages.
At the Ageing Research Institute for Society and Education (ARISE) of Nanyang Technological University, Professor Qing Fang and his delegation had an in-depth discussion with Professor Theng Yin Leng, Executive Director of ARISE. They focused on the innovative applications of aging-friendly game research and vertical field game informatics research being conducted by ARISE. Our teachers and students showed great interest in the research topics, and they highlighted the research foundation and strengths of Wuhan University in related fields.
This visit not only deepened the mutual understanding between Nanyang Technological University and Wuhan University, but also laid a solid foundation for future in-depth cooperation.
