Recently, Professor Wei Lu was invited to attend the 2024 Joint Conference on Digital Libraries (JCDL) and deliver a keynote speech.
As the first Chinese scholar ever invited to give a keynote speech at JCDL, Professor Wei Lu presented the report entitled with AI Driven Innovation Indexing. In his presentation, he delved into the advancements of artificial intelligence (AI) in the field of innovation indexing in scientific research, demonstrating how AI is revolutionizing methods for indexing scientific literature, constructing an innovation indexing framework, and promoting innovation-driven practices. Wei Lu emphasized the role of AI in advancing scientific research, information resource management, and uncovering scientific innovations. He proposed an intelligent platform framework based on AI to address challenges posed by scientific big data and achieve efficient and precise document indexing. Through specific application cases such as metadata extraction, knowledge entity indexing, and originality evaluation, Wei Lu showcased AI's capability to deepen scientific knowledge indexing and innovation assessment, offering a new perspective on intelligent innovation indexing and envisioning AI’s potential in future knowledge management and innovation evaluation.
JCDL is jointly hosted by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). According to statistics from Microsoft Academic, JCDL ranks highest among international conferences focused on digital libraries. It is also the only conference dedicated to digital libraries that has received the highest A+ rating in computer science and information technology conferences evaluated by CORE. During the conference, Fengchang Yu, Assistant Researcher at our school, delivered a specialized lecture, while multiple students including Dehao Ying presented oral reports on their articles.
