The SIM Holds 2025 School Work Deployment Meeting

On the afternoon of March 6th, our school convened a faculty and staff meeting in Lecture Hall 212 to deploy its 2025 work plan. School CPC Secretary Jun Tao and Dean Xiaoguang Wang, along with all faculty and staff members, attended the meeting. Jun Tao presided over the session.

During the meeting, Xiaoguang Wang reviewed the school’s achievements in 2024, introduced the overarching strategy for 2025, and outlined key tasks for the year. He noted that in 2024, with the concerted efforts of all faculty, staff and students, the school had achieved remarkable progress across all fronts. The school fully leveraged the guiding role of CPC building, deeply integrating high-quality CPC construction into all aspects of its work, which vigorously propelled high-quality development. Discipline construction steadily advanced through targeted measures to strengthen its core competitiveness. Upholding the fundamental mission of fostering virtue and nurturing talent, the school actively explored innovative education models, yielding outstanding results in cultivating top-tier innovative professionals. Scientific research flourished, marked by the publication of high-impact academic papers and the successful undertaking of major research projects, further expanding academic influence. Domestic and international collaborations intensified through diversified platforms, steadily enhancing the school’s capacity for societal engagement. Additionally, the school reinforced foundational support, prioritized cultural development, and fostered a harmonious, proactive educational environment.

Xiaoguang Wang stated that in 2025, the school will further focus on key areas and fully advance a series of priority tasks.

In teaching and education, efforts will be made to accelerate the iterative updates of teaching content and methods, meticulously building a high-quality ecosystem for cultivating digital-intelligent talents in information management disciplines.

For discipline development, deeper interdisciplinary integration will be pursued to stimulate new vitality and expand new frontiers for academic growth.

Regarding talent development, a dual strategy of recruitment and cultivation will be implemented, balancing the introduction of new faculty with the training of existing staff to form a high-caliber academic team.

In platform construction, tailored support will be increased for diverse platforms to provide robust backing for scientific innovation.

On internationalization, active global exchanges and collaborations will be promoted, combining internal cohesion with external partnerships to elevate the school’s international profile.

At the management level, institutional optimization will be accelerated to enhance governance efficiency. Simultaneously, investments in foundational support will be strengthened to ensure a solid foundation for all school operations.

Xiaoguang Wang emphasized the imperative to uphold CPC building leadership as the guiding force, strengthen foundational values, and consistently prioritize the fundamental mission of fostering virtue and nurturing talent. He urged all faculty and staff to embrace a "second entrepreneurship" spirit, actively engage in the school’s development, and relentlessly explore theoretical and practical innovations in information management disciplines within digital-intelligent environments. By pursuing high-quality development, the school aims to stride boldly into the new era and compose a groundbreaking chapter in building a world-class, comprehensive, research-oriented school of information management with Chinese characteristics.

In his concluding remarks, Jun Tao expressed gratitude to all faculty and staff for their dedication. He urged everyone to fully implement the school and Wuhan University’s 2025 objectives, foster unity and innovation, and contribute to the school’s continued excellence.
