In order to promote the construction and development of the Key Laboratory of Semantic Publishing and Knowledge Service, on the morning of April 9, SIM held a seminar on the construction of Key Laboratory of Semantic Publishing and Knowledge Service.

Xingrong Fu expressed his welcome and thanks to the experts from the industry. He hoped that the laboratory could make contributions to the development of digital publishing transformation and the prosperity of socialist culture in the context of a powerful country in science and technology and culture. He expressed that the school would give strong support to the laboratory construction.

Qing Fang pointed out that as the first ministry-level liberal arts laboratory in Wuhan University, the laboratory is of great significance to the discipline construction and scientific research development of the university. He hoped that the laboratory could make significant achievements and make a real difference in the application of technology to the publishing industry.

Xiaoguang Wang analyzed the future research direction of the laboratory, and proposed that the laboratory should make a representative, advanced and leading achievement in the field of semantic publishing and knowledge service.

Experts in the industry have made opinions and suggestions from the perspective of market demand, put forward the infrastructure of semantic publishing and digital publishing from the platform perspective, explore new types of semantic publishing and knowledge services, realize the docking and resource exchange between platforms, build dynamic digital change mode, improve academic publishing ecology, and etc. They also discussed how to apply the existing laboratory technology to the publishing industry practice better, and further improved the future development plan of the laboratory.
