On March 31, the SIM Sub-forum of the 9th Wuhan University International Interdisciplinary Forum was held. 14 outstanding young scholars from home and abroad participated in and made academic reports.

People attended the SIM Sub-forum were as followings:

Members of the SIM Professor's Committee,

members of the SIM leadership team,

heads of SIM departments,

academic leaders of the SIM,

and teachers' representatives of the SIM.

Yongqiang Sun, Associate Dean of the SIM,Wuhan University, presided over the SIM Sub-forum.

"Warmly welcome to the school to create a better future!" At the opening ceremony, Wei Lu, Dean of the SIM, Wuhan University, extended a warm welcome to all the young scholars. He said that the school has a history of 100 years, with many famous teachers and outstanding talents. Now the school has formed a high-level talent team including 3 senior professors of Humanities and Social Sciences, 5 National Leading Talents, and more than 40 national provincial, or ministerial-level young talents, initially forming a strategic fulcrum and “V” formation to lead the discipline development. He said that it is the talents who support the discipline of Library, Information, and Archives Management and Data Science of Wuhan University to become the "plateau discipline" of the whole country. The school sticks to the right path and making innovations, actively responds to changes, and focuses on planning interdisciplinary development, helping more young scholars to become "peak talents".

14 young scholars made academic reports in turn. Their reports focus on the latest research trends and achievements in the fields of machine learning, artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction, image recognition, information system, e-commerce and scientometrics. Experts and scholars from the SIM interacted with them.

Yongqiang Sun made a concluding speech at this SIM Sub-forum. On behalf of the school, he once again expressed that he sincerely welcomes young scholars at home and abroad to join SIM and grow, make progress and develop together with the school!
