At the same time, he also pointed out the shortcomings of departments in promoting students' employment, improving the quality of dissertations, promoting breakthroughs in major and key projects, and introducing talents. Wei Lu put forward three requirements as follows:

Firstly, to increase pressure, all departments should earnestly enhance their sense of urgency, and in the spirit of "risking the beach" and "gnawing hard bones", they should increase self-pressure and dare to take responsibility, actively seize the commanding heights of discipline development, and strive for the upper reaches with all their might;

Secondly, to strengthen confidence. Heads of departments should take the lead in building confidence, deeply understand the development opportunities faced by disciplines in the era of big data, further strengthen the confidence of teachers and students, and actively promote discipline transformation and digital intelligence empowerment;

Thirdly, to focus. Each department should take the talent team building as the foundation, take the promotion the quality of teaching material, innovation and entrepreneurship, and the quality of dissertations as the core, and focus on strengthening the construction of think tank, academic achievement transformation, and landmark achievements, so as to push the work of the School to a new level.

Xingrong Fupointed out that the Meeting of Department and Office Directors is not only the need to strengthen communication among departments, offices and the School, but also an effective way to promote more efficient implementation of work. He reported SIM’s performance in the 2021 Wuhan University Grass-roots Party Building Debriefing Assessment, the 2021 Wuhan University Dean's Work Debriefing Assessment, open information of the SIM’s work, and the implementation plan of Party cadres' practical activities. He commented on each department's reports one by one, pointing out that each department has its own unique development advantages, but also shortcomings. He hoped that each department should actively strengthen the study of the major policies of the Party and the state, give full play to their respective strengths, strengthen mutual learning and coordination around the first-class discipline construction scheme, make progress and promotion together, and provide strength for the overall development and progress of the School.
