On June 7-8, the Society of Chinese Archives and Hubei Archives jointly held the Exchange Activities of New Technology, New Achievements and New Opportunities of Archives. The activity was to celebrate the 15th International Archives Day.

Wei Lu, Professor and Dean of the SIM, Wuhan University, andJiming Hu, Professor and Deputy Director of the Department of Archives and Government Information Studies, were invited to attend, and many students participated in the activities.

On the morning of June 7, the activity was launched at Huashan New Archives of the Hubei Archives. Later, at the Introduction Meeting of Archives Industry Technical Achievements, team member of Professor Ping Wang gave a keynote speech onDeep Embedding of Artificial Intelligence and Archives Business-- Open Identification and Archives Compilation and Research, and interacted with peers from the industry and academic communities. During the activity, many SIM students served as volunteers, assisting the development of the activity.

On the morning of June 8, the Intelligent Archives Laboratory jointly built by the Hubei Archives and Wuhan University set up a booth in the new archives of Hubei Archives to participate in the demonstration of new technology, exchange of new achievements and exhibition of new products. The Intelligent Archives Laboratory is built on the basis of three development directions: theoretical innovation, technical empowerment and achievement incubation. This exhibition mainly publicized and displayed the new achievements of Archives science and technology from the aspects of OFD format conversion, blockchain+archives, 3D virtual warehouse, archives self-service inquiry machine, comprehensive archives management system and surveying and mapping data archives management system.

On the afternoon of June 8, nearly 30 SIM students visited the Huashan New Archives of the Hubei Archives and booths, and had in-depth face-to-face exchanges with archival science and technology innovation organizations and companies, so as to get a close look at the new development and opportunities in the frontier of archives industry.

The Exchange Activities of New Technology, New Achievements and New Opportunities of Archives is a concrete action of Hubei Archives to implement the new development concept and implement the deployment of Hubei provincial government on building a strong province of science and technology. In the next step, relying on the construction of the Intelligent Archives Laboratory, our School will further carry out strategic cooperation with Hubei Archives in disciplines and industries, and jointly promote the development of archives in Hubei province during the 14th Five-Year Plan and the construction of national first-class discipline of Archives Science in Wuhan University.
