Our School was Awarded the First Prize at The National College Students E-Commerce "Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship" Challenge

From August 20 to 23, the 9th National College Students E-Commerce "Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship" Challenge Finals was held at Xi'an Jiaotong University. The team "Magic City", directed by Yang Zhao, won the first prize. Yang Zhao was awarded the honor of excellent instructor.

The team "Magic City", directed by Yang Zhao, won the first prize at the 9th National College Students E-Commerce "Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship" Challenge.

 

The award-winning team "Magic City" consisted of five undergraduate students: Weimeng Wu (Captain, School of Information Management), Miao Wang (School of Information Management), Chunfeng Li (School of Information Management), Cheng Chen (School of Urban Design) and Bo Tan (School of Computer Science). The award-winning project City and Recollections: Immersive Cultural and Creative Tourism Project utilized image recognition technology, augmented reality technology (AR), 3D modeling technology and computer vision technology on wearable equipment to effectively realize the restoration of the old city and social interaction. The project has created an immersive travel experience and innovated tourism model, it was highly praised by experts, and many entrepreneurs expressed their investment intentions.

 

The National College Students E-Commerce "Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship" Challenge is a significant national college students competition, managed by the Ministry of Education and hosted by the higher education E-Commerce Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education. It is also one of the 34 items of core events related to discipline competition evaluation listed by the China Association of Higher Education. The competition aims to stimulate the interest and potential of college students, and cultivate students' innovative consciousness, creative thinking, entrepreneurial ability and team spirit. This year's competition has a total of 55,021 teams from more than 600 colleges and universities in 31 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions, and the scale has reached a record high.

 

This is the first time that our university participated in the competition. The School of Information Management attached great importance to it and actively organized the whole process. The school has carried out project selection, team training, expert guidance and other work to promote studying, teaching and innovation. All related work has played a positive role in the construction of e-commerce majors and the promotion of innovation and entrepreneurship of education reform.
