Students of School of Information Management Made Great Achievement in the Sitcom Competition of Luojia Golden Autumn Art Festival

The final competition of the 2019 Sitcom Competition of Golden Autumn Art Festival of Wuhan University was held at the Mei playground on November 2. The sitcomWho Broke This Heart, which was written, directed and performed by undergraduates of our school, won the third place with a high score of 9.50.

Students of School of Information Management are performing the sitcomWho Broke This Hearton the stage in the sitcom competition of Luojia Golden Autumn Art Festival.

This Sitcom Competition took "patriotism" as the theme, the competition was composed by two rounds: the preliminary and the final. Ningzhe Zhu, a 2017-year grade undergraduate student in E-commerce major, also president of the "Customized Drama Club" of our school, took the hero of the sitcomWho Broke This Heart. The sitcom explored the contradiction between narrow patriotism and modern patriotism from a new perspective. The plot of the sitcom was unique, and it shuttled between reality and dream with fantastic aesthetic. The sitcom was enrolled into the final as the eighth place in the preliminary round, however, after intense and several practice and rehearsals, all actors performed better in the final and achieved another success. The students enjoyed the pleasure of art as well as started a deeper and longer questioning and reflection on "rational patriotism" through the performance.

The performance of sitcoms are popular among students of School of Information Management. The school has organized "Wenhua Drama Club" and "Customized Drama Club" in recent years. In addition to participating in the Sitcom Competition of Luojia Golden Autumn Art Festival held by Wuhan University every year, the school also held ten consecutive psychological drama competitions. The performing art combines with spiritual education, which is an easy-to-be acceptable form for college students and enrich the campus cultural life of them.
