Recently, the list of 2019 cultural celebrities of "Four Batches" talents plan was announced, and Professor Lifang Xu at our school was listed in the category of "International Communication".
As one of the earliest Chinese publishing researchers who published papers in authoritative international academic journals, Professor Lifang Xu translated The Columbia Guide to Digital Publishing, which has been used as textbook for specialized modules and learning materials for digital publishing practitioners in many universities across the country. On behalf of our university, Professor Lifang Xu initiated and established academic relations in the publishing industry in China as well as world-renowned publishing majors such as Pace University, New York University, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Leiden University and University College London. She also co-hosted International Conference on Publishing Industry and Publishing Education in the Digital Age with Pace University for six times, which has had wide influence on the publishing industry at home and abroad.
It was reported that "Four Batches" talent cultivation programme is a national special plan, the purpose of the plan is to strengthen the cultivation of leading figures and various high-level professionals, and it is focus on enhancing the cultivation of young and middle-aged talent and high-level management talent, who specialized in four fields, such as theory, journalism, publishing, literature and art.
