Professor Dan Wu was Elected as Director-at-Large of the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T)

On June 29, the ASIS&T Board of Directors was pleased to announce the results of the 2020 Board of Directors Election. Professor Dan Wu, Asia Pacific branch president-elect of ASIS&T was elected by a high vote, became the incoming one of the eight Directors-at-Large. Professor Wu is also the first Director-at-Large from China mainland since the establishment of ASIS&T which is more than 80 years.

Professor Dan Wu has been engaged in the research of information retrieval and human-computer interaction for a long time, and she has been committed to promoting China's Library and Information Science community worldwide. She is a member of ACM Digital Library Committee, iSchool Data Science Curriculum Committee, ACM/IEEE Joint Conference on Digital Library Steering Committee, and she is the chief editor of Aslib Journal of Information Management, a well-known SSCI journal in the field of Library and Information Science.

The Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) was founded in the United States in 1937. After more than 80 years' development, it is the preeminent professional association that bridges the gap between information science practice and research. ASIS&T members represent the fields of information science, computer science, linguistics, management, librarianship, engineering, data science, information architecture, law, medicine, chemistry, education, and related technology. ASIS&T advances the information sciences and similar applications of information technology by helping members build their skills and developing their careers by providing focus, opportunity, and support through training, research, publications, and ongoing education.
