On November 30, the Ministry of Education issued the Announcement on the Results of the First Batch of National First-class Undergraduate Courses, and four courses of our school were selected. They are Information Retrieval by Professor Ruhua Huang, Fundamentals of Information Management by Professor Feicheng Ma, Principles and Utilization of Information Organization by Professor Li Si, and Virtual Simulation Experiment of Network Big Data Search Engine by Professor Wei Lu.

Information Retrieval was recognized as a national excellent online open course in 2017, and this time it was recognized as a national first-class online course. This course is a quality education course, which is practical and operational. Through a large number of vivid and interesting cases, film clips and other video materials, the lecturer shows the benefits and specific application of information retrieval, and teaches the basic methods of network information retrieval, the use skills of common search engines and automatic translation tools, and the process of solving practical problems by using information retrieval, so as to maximize the students' ability of information literacy and the ability of flexible use of information to solve various problems.

Fundamentals of Information Management was recognized as a national excellent online open course in 2018, and this time it was recognized as a national first-class online course. As a required professional basic course for undergraduates of Department of Information Management and Information System, this course is also a basic and introductory course. The course starts with the business process of information management, introduces relevant theories and methods, and discusses the new development and application of specific fields of information management in the network environment, so as to help learners build up the overall cognitive picture of information management field, improve their information literacy and information ability, and improve the efficiency of information management tasks.

Principles and Utilization of Information Organization was recognized as a national first-class online course. As the basis of organizing and retrieving literature information, the Principles and Utilization of Information Organization is the core course of related majors in colleges and universities, such as library science, archives science, publishing and distribution science. Through the study of this course, we can master the basic knowledge, theory and method of information organization, improve the ability of developing and retrieving literature information resources, and be able to use the basic theory and method of information organization to engage in specific information organization, information development and application practice.

Virtual Simulation Experiment of Network Big Data Search Engine was recognized as the first-class course of national virtual simulation experiment teaching. The experimental teaching project is independently developed by the Information Retrieval and Knowledge Mining Laboratory, Wuhan University. Relying on the National Laboratory for Library and Information Science Education of Wuhan University, the experimental teaching reform is vigorously promoted by using natural language processing, big data analysis and visualization, virtual simulation and other technologies, and the immersion, autonomous, interactive, discussion and reflective experimental teaching methods are adopted. It is committed to cultivating students' ability of analyzing and solving problems, active learning ability and innovation ability, and improving students' problem awareness and information literacy.
