The general meeting of editor-in-chief of Data and Information Management (DIM) was held at our School on April 11. Feicheng Ma, Senior Professor of Humanities and Social Sciences at Wuhan University, first editor-in-chief of DIM, announced that Professor Wei Lu serves as editor-in-chief, Professor Xiaoliang Shen serves as executive editor, and Professor Jiang Wu serves as associate editor.
At the meeting, Feicheng Ma reviewed the development of DIM since it was founded, and highly affirmed the hard work of all members in the past seven years. He hopes that with the joint efforts of all editorial boards, DIM can achieve greater breakthroughs; Under the leadership of the new editorial board, all DIM members will forge ahead and scale new heights.
Wei Lu thanked the DIM editorial board for the trust and support. He said that the new editorial board will take "building a world-class academic journal" as its own responsibility, focus on improving DIM's influence, and strive to build DIM into a well-known international academic journal with high level.
As leader in charge of Journal Center and new associate editor of DIM, Jiang Wu proposed to further increase the introduction of excellent articles, improve the review quality of peer reviewers, deepen international academic exchanges and cooperation, etc., to enhance the influence of the DIM.
Xiaoliang Shen thanked the DIM editorial board for its trust and Feicheng Ma’s guidance. He reviewed his work as executive associate editor of DIM since 2021, introduced the operation indicators and retrieval information of DIM, and emphasized the confidence in DIM's future development. By comparing DIM with similar international high-level journals, Xiaoliang Shen put forward the development path of "internationalization" and "localization" to enhance the international influence and academic prestige of the DIM at home and abroad. He hoped that all members of the editorial board would be united, and work together for development, so as to achieve new heights.
DIM is an international academic journal in English sponsored by Wuhan University and published by Elsevier. DIM covers multiple disciplines, such as information resources management, management, information science, computer science, etc., and takes information behavior and interaction as its main features. At present, DIM has been indexed in many databases and retrieval tools, including EI, Scopus, DOAJ, FMS Journal Rating Guide (Federation of Management Societies of China), AMI Comprehensive Evaluation Report on China Humanities and Social Sciences Journals, etc. Gary Marchionini, Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, also serves as editor-in-chief of DIM. The DIM editorial board consists of 76 well-known experts and scholars from 12 countries. At present, DIM is published in OA mode, and no fees are charged to the authors.
