Our School Greeted 223 Freshmen

Teachers and students of the School of Information Management, Wuhan University, greeted the freshmen of Grade 2024 to Luojia Hill at Meiyuan Playground on September 2nd.

VIPs came to the venue for welcoming new students were as the followings:

Taiyan Huang, CPC Secretary of Wuhan University,

Xingrong Fu, CPC Secretary of the School of Information Management, Wuhan University,

Wei Lu, Dean of the School of Information Management, Wuhan University,

Qian Dai, CPC Deputy Secretary of the School of Information Management, Wuhan University,

Lihong Zhou, Associate Dean of the School of Information Management, Wuhan University,

Volunteers have been busy since 6:00 in the early morning. They carried hundreds of welcoming packages to the venue, decorated the tent, tested the equipment and prepared for each detail carefully. After seven o'clock, new students arrived one after another, and volunteers greeted them warmly. The freshmen completed the registration procedures such as information matching, receiving campus cards and welcoming packages under the guidance of teachers and senior students. The welcoming work was orderly and the scene was full of warmth and enthusiasm despite the hot weather.

Taiyan Huang and other university leaders visited the venue at about nine o'clock. They greeted the new students cordially and took photos with them. They extended a warm welcome to the new students, expressed gratitude for the volunteers, communicated with students and their parents at the site, and encouraged the students to study hard and make progress in the School of Information Management to start a brand-new campus life.

The new students, together with their relatives and friends, took their first college photo in front of slogan board after registration. Afterwards, volunteers led the new students and their parents to the dormitory building, helped them carry luggage and to look for the rooms. The volunteers' enthusiastic service and meticulous care have get high praise from new students and their parents, making them feel the warmth of the SIM family when they just arrived.

The welcoming work was completed successfully at five o'clock in the afternoon. Qian Dai led counselors of all grades, class assistants for freshmen and student cadres to visit the dormitories, communicated with new students face to face, learned about their accommodation, told the details of life in campus, carried out safety education, and encouraged everyone to participate in student activities.
