On the afternoon of October 17th, our School held a general meeting in 212 lecture hall to announce the appointment of the new dean. Linping Wang, Vice President of Wuhan University Cadre Training School, read out the Appointment Letter from Wuhan University. Xiaoguang Wang is dean of the School of Information Management, and Wei Lu is no longer the dean of the School of Information Management.

In his speech, Xiaoguang Wang reviewed his study and work experience and expressed gratitude for Wuhan University’s trust. He said that he will adhere to the concept of "intelligence and service", adhere to the School motto, which is "pioneering creation, pragmatic entrepreneurship, leading innovation", take the responsibility and work with the members of the School leadership, all students, faculty and staff to promote further high-quality development of the School.

Wei Lu, Vice President of Wuhan University, expressed his firm support for the decision of Wuhan University’s leadership, warmly congratulated Xiaoguang Wang on his appointment as the new dean, and thanked Wuhan University for its long-term attention and support to the School of Information Management. In his speech, he expressed his feelings for the School, and deeply recalled his experience of working together with the teachers and students of the School since he has taken the dean’s responsibility from 2020, and continuing to devote himself to creating a world-class comprehensive research-oriented information management school. He expressed his heartfelt thanks to the School leadership and faculty and staff for their support and help, and said that he would continue to pay attention to and support the development of the School in the future.

In his speech, Longqiang Chu, CPC Deputy Secretary of Wuhan University, pointed out that since Wei Lu had been the dean of the School in July, 2020, together with the members of the School leadership, teachers and students, he has made great efforts to forge ahead and innovate, and has made gratifying achievements in various undertakings, with remarkable achievements in discipline construction, team building, personnel training, international exchange and social service, which was fully affirmed by Wuhan University leadership. Xiaoguang Wang has firm ideals and beliefs, rich management experience, clear working idea, and strong sense of the overall situation. He hopes all the faculty and staff will support the new dean.

Xingrong Fu, CPC Secretary of the School of Information Management, said that he firmly supported the decision of Wuhan University leadership, warmly welcomed Xiaoguang Wang as the new dean, resolutely safeguarded the unity of the School leadership, and made concerted efforts to do all the work in a down-to-earth manner and making every effort to promote the cause of the School to achieve new results.
